Flow Reactor System – Automated Catalyst Evaluation Under Real Process Conditions

The Micromeritics Flow Reactor System is a fully automated, benchtop solution for real-time catalyst testing under industrially relevant process conditions. Designed for both research and pilot-scale studies, it delivers accurate, reproducible reaction data while simulating real-world operating environments up to 1000 °C and 200 bar.

With up to six gas and two liquid feed streams, and patented wide-range pressure control valves, the Flow Reactor provides unmatched flexibility for studying reactions such as Fischer–Tropsch synthesis, ammonia synthesis and decomposition, methanol synthesis, steam or dry reforming, Sabatier process, and hydrogenation. Interchangeable reactor modules and advanced safety systems enable quick deployment, unattended operation, and seamless transition from lab-scale to continuous flow setups.

At Prisma Scientific, our experts provide training, method development, and process optimization support, helping laboratories and process developers design, run, and interpret catalytic experiments efficiently and safely.

Key Applications

  • Catalyst screening and kinetic studies

  • Fischer–Tropsch and hydrogenation reactions

  • Ammonia and methanol synthesis

  • Reforming and CO₂ conversion processes

  • Flow process development and scale-up

Why Choose the Flow Reactor System

With automated experiment scheduling, real-time data acquisition, and precision control of temperature, pressure, and flow, the Flow Reactor System minimizes development risk and accelerates scale-up. Its modular FR-100 and FR-200 configurations — including dual, twin, and parallel reactor modes — deliver unmatched versatility for multi-catalyst and complex process evaluations.
